Hey guys im only a lil beginner to pwc so ive only spent a lil bit of money on my first ski to see how I enjoy it. But at the moment I am hating it because my ski just wont start after I stall it in the water. It runs great until it has a lil dunk and stalls. But then it will not fire back up. It turns over and ive done a carby kit and reset the carb settimgs aswell. Someone please help me. Im pulling my hair out

How strongly is your 'ski turning over in the water? If it's slower than on land it could indicate a weak battery or poor (+/-) cables.

I had a JS 440 once. I repeat, ONCE. Nothing will give you insight into (what goes wrong) with the mechanics of a Jet Ski than one of these beasts. Look at it as an exercise in character building...

not a decent ski to look for first . unless it was an inherited stocker like i got when i was 10 .

js440 looking over 25+ years old parts would be wearing n tearing depending how well ski was looked after

piston port engines had issues from what i heard . reed valve js550sx alot better engine

It seems like its turning over slower in the water so ill have a look asap, also with the exaust the water cooling had no t peice so im thinking water may have bogged it out in the exhaust manifold? Like I said it runs great when I first start it in the water then once it stalls it wont fire up again. :(

Turns out the spark lead was replaced by a 240 house wire and was sparking all over the ebox instead of igniting the spark plug. Do the spark leads come off the coil or are they stuck well?
